Gus Heningburg Collection (Box #1-#8), 1967-2008.

The finding aid consists of five series in 8 Hollinger boxes. Request by box numbers below (BOX #1, etc.). After the completion of the finding aid, 22 Hollinger boxes and 4 Paige boxes (offsite) were added . Series I : Biographical Informations (ca. 1960s-1980s) including resume, speeches, writings, honors and awards and other ephemera. Series II : Photographs (ca. 1960s-1990) including photographs of Heningburg's family, friends, colleagues, and of famous politicians and public figures such as former New Jersey Governor Tom Kean, images of downtown Newark, Newark International Airport, and of local children at events, among other subjects. Series III : Greater Newark Urban Coalition documents (1968-1980) containing documents, correspondence, ephemera, reports, and check stubs booklets that document the activities of this organization. Series IV : Race/Black/Urban issues documents (1967-1994) including materials related to minority hiring at UMDNJ and Newark Airport, the Stella Wright Homes tenant strike, New Jersey Sports and Exposition Authority, Minority Economic Development Industrial and Cultural Enterprise, Newark Construction Trades Training Corporation, and educational, civil rights, and race issues. Series V : Newspaper clippings (1967-2000) containing newspaper and magazine article clippings of various subjects, organized alphabetically by topic. Hollinger boxes added after the completion of the finding aid.
